Hospice of San Angelo Receives $11,000 Donation
Suddenlink presents proceeds from Memorial Fishing Tournament

SAN ANGELO, Texas (March 25, 2010) –  Hospice of San Angelo today received a check for $11,000, representing proceeds from the Suddenlink Tony Gibson Memorial Fishing Tournament held March 6 at Lake O.H. Ivie.  The check was presented by Suddenlink San Angelo System Manager Monica Kincer at Suddenlink offices.

This year’s tournament was named in memory of avid fisherman and San Angelo Bass Club member Tony Gibson.  Gibson was a winner at the first Suddenlink fishing tournament last year.  He later received care from Hospice of San Angelo before he passed away in October.
“We are grateful to Suddenlink and the others who made this tournament a reality,” said Hospice of San Angelo Executive Director David McBride.  “The money raised will assure that all the promises we make to patients and families will continue to be honored.”

“This could not have taken place without the help of the San Angelo Bass Club, Tony Gibson’s family, Hospice and Suddenlink volunteers, sponsors and, of course, those who came out to fish,” said Kincer.  “On behalf of the families who will benefit from this donation, we want to say ‘thank you.’”

The 2010 tournament, which drew 192 participants in all age groups, was presented by Suddenlink Communications, in partnership with the San Angelo Bass Club.  Sponsors included: AEP Texas, Aurora Networks, Bank and Trust, Bug Express, Cal Tech, Concho Valley Home Healthcare, Dean’s Marine, Family Water Sports, Field & Stream, Jim Bass Ford, Mr. Insurance, Skeeter Performance Fishing Boats, Sound Choice, Stampede Express and Suddenlink Business.
